FILMING CONCEPT
The concept was an astronaut landing on a distant planet and the beginning of exploration.
PIPELINE
PRE-PRODUCTION
The Unreal Engine environment on the planet was built by a member of the team as part of their vision and brough in with storyboards and an overall plan.
PRODUCTION
Production was a straightforward shoot on the day. The Unreal Engine environment was upoaded on the day and after some testing was configured correctly. The motion capture camera was tested and setup accordingly. The space outfit was assembled and the segments of film were shot.
POST-PRODUCTION
This will form part of a larger project so the final cut is not available st this time.












REFLECTION
This was a well planned out shoot. Simple in its planning but did run into issues which provided a good learning curve in filming with lighting on the day. The astronauts helmet used provided issue with reflection and with lighting above from the overhead LED screeen along with side lighting and spotlights from above at the back there were amny spots of light even with deflectores that took away from the natural nature of the shoot. A number of lighting scenarios were explored with the final take resorting to minimal lighting with enough to set the scene and agree that space would have some passive light reflections.
